The 1st Meeting Of The Task Force To Develop ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework In Higher Education
The 1st Meeting of the Task Force to Develop ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework in Higher Education was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 29th to 30th June 2012.
The task force was set up with representations of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC), the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment, Thailand (ONESQA), the General Department of Education and Training, the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam (GDETA-MOET), the Southeast Asian Ministries of Education Organization Regional Institute of Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED) and the ASEAN University Network (AUN) during the 2011 AQAN Roundtable Meeting in Brunei. Ms Concepcion Pijano, the Executive Director of the Philippines Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) was appointed as a member of the Task Force.
The two-day meeting discussed matters pertaining to the scopes of the project which will guide further works on the focus and structure of the Framework. The draft of the Framework will be presented during the 2012 AQAN Seminar and Roundtable Meeting scheduled to be on October 2012 in Kuala Lumpur.
